Position Summary: Under the direction of the manager and the hospital subsidiary CFO, facilitates the resolution of Cerner encounter edits and issues that prevent timely billing to payers.  Seeks to identify root causes of issues and then work collaboratively to implement more effective workflows and system build.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

1.      Provides leadership to drive accurate and timely revenue capture.

2.      Analyzes all DNFB A/R for any category exceeding targets and takes action to resolve and address root cause.

3.      Collaborates within organization and across the corporation to assure knowledge is shared, accountability is established for resolving DNFB, and A/R targets are met.

4.      Communicates DNFB trends to the site CFO for awareness and escalation where needed.

5.      Supports the site CFO in any DNFB projects or targeted issues.

6.      Develops working relationships with Patient Accounting, Patient Access, Coding and Revenue Integrity to assist departments for resolution of Discern Notifications.

7.      Establishes a network of contacts for assistance in troubleshooting problems.

8.      Utilizes reports, both published and on the portal to track trends and identify problem areas holding accounts in DNFB.

9.      Educates department leaders to capture revenue most effectively in a clinically driven revenue HIS.

Performs other related job duties as requested

Required:

·         Associate degree in a related field.

·         Three years of prior related work experience

Preferred: 

·         Bachelor’s degree

·         Clinical experience

·         Knowledge of coding guidelines

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1.      Excellent customer service skills.

2.      Strong communication skills; ability to interact productively with leaders, peers, and customers.

3.      Proficient in the use of computers and Microsoft Office.

4.      Knowledge of information systems and experience with software testing and testing tools.

5.      Superb organization skills.

6.      Excellent time management.

7.      Ability to analyze and revise operating practices to improve efficiency

8.      Detail oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced office environment.

9.      Ability to multi-task.

10.  Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance practices.

11.  Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding.

12.  Skill in gathering, interpreting and reporting insurance information.

13.  Self-directed and able to work independently
