Registered Nurse - PACU Phase II
Qualifications:
Required:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Must possess valid State of
- BLS certified
- ACLS certified within 6 months of hire
- TNCC certified within 1 year of hire
- 2 years previous experience as an RN in PACU
Preferred:
- Previous experience working in OR/PACU/OP/ENDO
- Previous experience working in critical care
- Previous work experience within the specific unit specialty
- Specialty certification within the specific unit
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstrates the minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities in age-specific categories being served: infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric
Position Specific Expectations:

PACU Phase 2
- Continue patient vital monitoring and begin discharge preparation
- Provide education to patient and family if necessary, on surgeon’s postoperative instructions and prescribed medication

- Deals with and maintains highly confidential patient medical information

- Access to Protected Health Information in any format, whether oral, written, or through Electronic Information Systems will be in accordance with HIPAA guidelines and subject to disciplinary action when misused. Access to electronic information systems for this position is based on criteria found in a pre-determined systems access matrix for classification specific job function, found in HR Policy #580, “Using Disclosing, and Requesting Only the Minimum Amount of Protected Health Information Necessary”.
